Bake your own Dutch ginger nuts. A Sinterklaas evening is not complete without home-baked ginger nuts. At dapeppa we call them Peppanuts.

The ginger nuts are very easy to make yourself. You just need to add some butter and a little water. Knead the dough with your hands and then make small balls. Just in the oven and your house will be filled with the delicious scent of speculoos. After baking, place them on a dish or, like Piet, use the burlap bag to put in the home made Peppanuts.

  • Melt some chocolate and dip your self-baked spice nuts in the chocolate. Let the chocolate cool.

Method of preparation

What do you need?
- 250 g dapeppa's peppa nuts baking mix
- 65 grams of soft butter
- 30 ml of milk or water
- Baking paper and an oven

Do it yourself
The preparation method is on the supplied card

Tip from the Baking Piet:
Make a roll of the dough (bakers call this a pill) and cut pieces of it that you place on the baking tray. Keep about 3 cm space between the ginger nuts.

Bake the peppanuts in a preheated oven (170 degrees) for about 15 – 18 minutes.

Remove the peppanuts from the oven. Do not eat immediately, but let them cool down for half an hour first. If you succeed.

In the meantime, enjoy the wonderful smell of freshly baked Peppanuts in your home.
